Hooking Up Anglers Since 2011.
The past few weeks we have been experiencing some great Chinook fishing over off the Gulf Islands. during the next few weeks I would expect to see the action continue, though become a bit more "spotty" with respect to the moon phases. In other words, good fishing near the full and new moons, and slower action on the quarters.
We should also begin to see good numbers of Coho showing up off West Vancouver. Over the past few weeks there have also bee far larger numbers of Coho located in the Nanaimo area than we have seen in Georgia Strait for at least a couple of decades. This should bode well for our West Vancouver Coho fishery in July. In fact, if the water levels in the Capilano River were not still so high, this fishery would have already begun as good numbers of fish have been entering the river for the past few weeks.
