Mosquito Lagoon Fishing Report

 | By Capt Chris M on 7/3/2013 12:00:00 AM | Views (1445)

Fishing in the Mosquito Lagoon and Indian River has been good for redfish, seatrout, and drum. Some areas have been affected by brown algae, limiting visibility. On sunny days, however, you can still spot redfish cruising the shallow grass flats. The DOA baitbuster, fished on the surface, will draw great topwater bites from both reds and trout. Try a 3" DOA shrimp for pitching to tailing redfish. Watch for tarpon to show up any day now. The fish can be from 5 to 100 pounds so carry a heavy rod if you want to battle with the big fish.
