Notes :
Built in 1938 by Harland & Wolf of Belfast for the Liverpool- Dublin passenger ferry link. 353'x 50'x 14'.
20-cylinder oil engine 1347hp with twin screws. Owned by Coast Lines. Whilst on the Belfast to Liverpool
run, she triggered a magnetic mine near to the Liverpool Bar at 6am. No casualties. Dive details: 23mts to
seabed with a 2mt scour, 18mts to top, of wreck. Possibility is that the ship broke in two before sinking
as there are reports of two areas of wreckage fairly close together. The other possibility is that the area
with the smaller area of wreckage is that of the "Ystroom" which also sank close to the above position.
Large sections of wreck standing 6m from seabed have been located at N 53°36'024, W 003°29'244 possibly the
bow section, if not all of the "Munster"; thi s wreckage lies north-west to south-east and is about 350feet
long! Wreckage covered in large plumrose anenomes. Plotted as "Unknown D"on Hydrographic Charts.
