Best time to dive the wreck, relative to high wate
2 - hours 0 - minutes After - high water

Notes :
This is a gorgeous wreck that is still shipshape. The superstructure has gone but her holds can be swam
through although much of the hull and deck is very thin and littered with holes. At the bottom of the holds
some deck equipment can be seen where it has fallen through the decks. The port side of her number 2 hold
is missing most likely due to the torpedo hit which was in this area. The boilers are clearly visable. The
engine room is a junk yard most likely due to the collapsed superstructure. Here you can squeese under
wreckage and find brass/copper. Last dive I found a brass lamp fitting. The holds are empty but you can
swim through the wreck as all that is left of the bulkheads are the supporting vertical and horizontal
struts supporting what is left of the decks. The bronze propeller has been salvaged. The seabed is shingle
and bits of wreckage can be seen if you have time. The vis on my dives has been excellent (> 10 metres).
We dive her from our club boats but a number of hardboats visit her from Salcombe. RIBS can be launched
here or at Hope Cove on Bolt Tail. She lies about 2 miles off the Bolt. They say its impossible to dive her
except for 2 hours before HW ore 2 1/2 hours after LW. This is not true but expect to feel like a flag on a
windy day. Once you are in the wreck you are protected but since this we have always doubled checked our
slack water times.
