San Francisco Fishing report 01/27/15

Hey Everyone,

The 9^th annual Diamond Classic Catch and Release Sturgeon Derby is over.  The volunteers assisting all aspects of the derby, from organizing the prizes to zooming over the water to measure fish caught, were very professional, handling the minor bumps like pros. I want to thank the pier crew for making it possible for kids without access to boats to experience fishing. They had rods, tackle and bait for the kids to use for free. Thank you very much! It was a grand success. You will see the results below. I want to thank all my supporters and sponsors that helped make it a success and bring smiles to all 123 kids. If you did not already know, the kids enter for free so sponsors are needed to help purchase or donate prizes. I am proud to say that with all your help every child went home with a prize and a smile. We had great prizes for the kids this year including custom rods, 4 Avet reels, 36 rod and reel outfits, many tackle boxes with surprises inside and much more. This year, kids fishing on the pier won two of the top prizes, including 1^st place. Bradley Houck, the 1^st place prizewinner, won a custom rod and an Avet reel valued at $950.00. Next year will be the 10^th Annual derby, so we are starting early to plan a big event. We hope to see you there.

58 of the 123 kids caught fish. Kids check in any fish.
