Hooking Up Anglers Since 2011.
Hey Sportsmen,
After a couple days off looking at the drought up in the mountains, see last report, I got back to work. I have to say the sturgeon bite the last few days was better than when I left. In fact the sturgeon bite has been the best so far this season. The water temperature is up around 63 to 65 degrees and the fish are chomping. We landed a lot of fish and had many missed opportunities. Many of the fish jumped all the way out of the water even in 55 feet of water during the battle. I had one gentleman battle a fish for almost 30 minutes and when it was all over the 83 inch sturgeon was released in the water. Later we hooked an even bigger sturgeon and when it jumped it rolled on the line and broke off. He won that battle. Are best bait has been eel and most of our sturgeon were found near Ozol pier and buoy 2. Yesterday I had a small group that just wanted action so I used Flash I and we fish the Bays. We landed a large leopard shark, nice bass some brown rockfish and 2 big lingcod. Everything except a bass was released. As much as I hate to I will be moving Flash II back to Fisherman’s Wharf on the 22nd. I have some room left before I move Flash II so if you want your last chance to get your sturgeon now is the time. Enjoy the photos.
