Fishing Report for Fri Aug 28th

 | By Seamus on 9/3/2015 9:56:09 AM | Views (345)
We've still been getting runs of Croaker and Spot on the overnight incoming tides. Day fishing remains slow with occasional random, unpredictable small runs of Croaker and Spot. There have also been some guppy Black Bass and a few Blues here and there. Been a lot of Pinfish out there lately too. They may look similar to a Spot, but are not a Spot. They will, however, rob you of your bait.
(See what a Pinfish looks like here: http://www.fishbase.org/tools/uploadphoto/uploads/lagodon_rhomboides-25-marzo-2006-010.jpg)

Crabbing remains slow with no known reason why. They are getting a few here and there, but are definitely not biting like they were. We have no idea if they are done for the season or not yet. We will keep you updated.

For an up to the minute report on Sunday and Monday, please call 757-481-7071.

It is Virginia Beach, so the weather changes by the minute. We recommend checking the report for yourself using the links below before you come. While we are happy to tell you what it looks like outside our window, we are no better at predicting the weather than the weatherman is.

(For the most accurate tides, use Cape Henry and/or Lynnhaven Inlet for the address - the pier is about half-way between the two points)

Incoming tide is typically better than outgoing tide. Incoming tide is approx. 1 hour after Low up to 1 hour before High.
