Once again, the wind this week has been preventing anglers from getting out, but during the lulls some great fish have been caught.

Anthony James & Logan Mader from the rock band “Once Human” managed a trip out with the Oceanhunter guys and caught some very good fish on our local inshore reefs. Live baits and lures were the key to catching some superb kingfish to 117cms during this trip.

After the rains this week some good fish are on the chew in the harbour, kings, salmon & flathead have all featured prominently in reports with plenty of live baits being available. Fishing in the deeper holes will have you in the zone. The flathead have been most keen on lures & plastics on the bottom, while the kings and salmon have been taking live baits of squid & yakkas just below the surface.

Alex Bellissimo reports some healthy whiting and bream have been working the beaches in the wash, with beachworms being a popular bait to catch these species. Dee Why, Narrabeen & Manly have all had productive results, be prepared to move from beach to beach as this will help in finding more fish.
