Hooking Up Anglers Since 2011.
With this weekend’s predicted warm sunny outlook, some good fishing is expected to be had & if it’s anything like the last week plenty of fish will be caught. Kingfish and Snapper reports have been solid with some good captures being recorded.
Andy Young headed out to the local inshore reefs and landed some very decent Snapper working soft plastics on the bottom in 20 meters of water, on the return trip home Andy stopped off at a few headlands to cast stickbait lures into the washes and found a school of Kingfish on the chew. It wasn’t long before a 85cm fish was had taken to his lure and was soon boat side. These packs of fish were in 12 meters of water & Young mentioned there were bigger fish amongst them.
The harbour is really picking up now as the water temp rises, Flathead, Salmon & Tailor have been caught right through out from Roseville to The harbour bridge on both lures & baits.
On the weekend of the 21st-23 of October The Warringah Anglers fishing club will be holding their annual Hunt For Red October snapper comp. This competition runs over the weekend with the weigh in being on Sunday 23rd at 1pm. This is by far the biggest fund raising event held on the northern beaches hosted by a fishing club with all proceeds going to Bear Cottage. Entry forms are available at Fish Outta Water Tackleworld at 533 Pittwater rd Brookvale. Thousands of dollars in prizes are up for grabs and this comp is open to the general public so drop in & grab a form and I’ll see you out there.
