Hooking Up Anglers Since 2011.
As the cooler weather warms, it's starting to hot up on the fishing front with some good captures coming from out wide & inshore. Yellowfin Tuna, Albacore, Marlin & Mahi Mahi have all been caught offshore this week and with the current water temperature at 22 degrees this is a great sign for the upcoming season.
Oceanhunter’s Vic Levett reports our inshore reefs are holding Kingfish & Amberjack high in the water column with Snapper & Flathead to 70cm working down deep. Schools of Salmon are around the heads & at Mosman Bay, while further west in Middle Harbour at Bantry Bay, Salmon, Tailor and more Kingfish are taking live Yellowtail baits and soft plastic lures.
Flathead reports are doubling each week with many anglers catching fish as this species awakens from its winter slumber. Narrabeen Lake has been a successful venue to target these guys with baits soft vibe lures and plastics. Working from the shoreline in & around the drop offs will put you in the zone, as deep water is not always a requirement to catch these fellas. With the school holidays closing in, it’s time to dust off the fishing gear, see you all out there good luck & good fishing
