Tuna Fishing Report

In the past week, there has been some good action between the 400 and the 550 line. Many charter and rec boats came back with nice catches of Blackfin and Yellowfin Tuna. Most of the Yellowfin were in the 30-40 pound range with a couple over 50 pounds. There were several citation size Blackfin Tuna caught that were in the upper 20 pound range as well. Tuna Duck had 3 citations on Saturday.

The sharks have been making it tough to get a tuna to the boat, but at least one boat caught a nice Mako shark, which are tasty. There have also been a few Blacktip Sharks in the area.

A couple of different boats saw Bluefin Tuna in Duffie Canyon and Little Canyon. Hopefully after the latest blow they are still around.
