Hooking Up Anglers Since 2011.
Fishing Report March 3rd 2017
The hardest part about fishing at the moment isn’t catching the fish but picking the weather. A large variety of reports are streaming in from those anglers’ lucky enough to find the gaps & make it to their favourite spots. Warm ocean currents are still encouraging fish to eat and there’s plenty on the chew out here in the blue.
Big kingfish are showing up on the inshore reefs along the peninsular as too are some big snapper on the shallower grounds, water quality is differing from day to day with water temps fluctuating from 19-26 degrees celcius. Marlin & mahi mahi are still present offshore so pick your fishing window and head out to the FAD’s and fish the current lines.
Brett Malcolm headed out with Sydney Fishing Tours and had a great session on the snapper. The harbour is still very warm & is producing bonito, flathead, tailor, kingfish & mulloway with plenty of squid & baitfish available.
Local customer George Makhlouf whipped in store & bought a new fishing outfit at our summer clearance sale & within two hours had christened it on a nice big flathead during a morning session in the rain this week. Makhlouf was fishing soft plastics when the big girl hit & after a couple of quick photos the fish was released. The early part of the weekend is shaping up nicely but always be sure to check various weather apps for incoming conditions, good luck & happy fishing.
Our "END OF SUMMER CLEARANCE SALE" is on in store now with 20% off storewide so come on in & pick up some bargains. Good luck & good fishing this weekend.
