Hooking Up Anglers Since 2011.
Weekly Fishing Report April 6 2017
Conditions are looking pretty sweet for a fish this weekend with the seas and early winds staying down a morning session or two is definitely on the cards. Some good fish are being caught both inshore & offshore at the moment so grab your kit and head out to your favourite spot and get into them. Brennan Webster went jigging in 40 meters off Manly this week & landed a metre+ mulloway on his 50lb outfit, Brennan was looking to target kings when the big jew came along, plenty of rats were also keen on the jigs during this trip.
Sydney Harbour is becoming clearer by the day & some good reports are coming in, decent flathead are being landed around Grotto Point & Chinaman’s Beach with soft plastics & vibes being the lures of choice while around the Manly area more hairtail are being caught by the charter skippers both on plastics & baits. Schools of tailor & salmon have been sighted west of the Spit bridge herding up shoals of bait on the surface, casting a metal lure or a popper into the school has been very successful for catching these fish.
The beaches are providing some good whiting and bream at the moment, the king worms sold in store are working a treat on these fish with early morning & late afternoons being the preferred times to wet a line for these guys. After dark on most beaches we are hearing about plenty of whalers being caught, if you are interested in catching some of these little tearaways be sure to use some wire at the business end
