Hooking Up Anglers Since 2011.
Weekly fishing Report
It looks like we have another weekend primed with good conditions on its way, the wind and seas will be quite comforting allowing boaters’ & fisho’s to take advantage of the terrific fishing available at the moment. Local inshore fishing has been firing this week. Vic Levett from Oceanhunter Sportsfishing reports plenty of snapper are on the chew around most of the shallow water reefs offshore. Squid are showing themselves at most local haunts in the harbour and are making great live & fresh baits for kingfish while rampaging schools of bonito are wreaking havoc with baitfish schools on the surface. Rock fishermen have been into kingfish, salmon, bonito & tailor this week with spinning lures being a heavily preferred application, small metal lures through to surface stickbaits have been successful. The beaches are well worth fishing at the moment with variable species available there is something for all to chase. Big tailor are roaming the suds at night and some fish up to 65cm have been landed using ganged hooks with salted pilchards for bait cast beyond the breakers, whaler sharks are also still in the vicinity so take some wire trace as it may be required. Whiting, salmon & trevally have been caught from Manly to Collaroy beaches this week with king beachworms being a very popular bait for these species, good luck & good fishing this weekend.
