Hooking Up Anglers Since 2011.
Ripper conditions during the week had anglers landing fish all over the place, mulloway, kingfish & flathead have been hard on the chew right throughout our waterways & offshore. If this weekend promises to hold up to its end of the deal I have no doubt many an angler more will be right amongst the thick of things.
Armen Kouch fished from his kayak in Middle Harbour landing a 72cm mulloway on a plastic vibe, a few rat kings were also taken this trip on more vibes & soft plastics lures. Johnathon Ross fished the back of Narrabeen Lake landing a couple of large flathead on soft plastics during the week and plenty of this species have been biting consistently through the Autumn season.
The waters offshore have cooled a little this week but good fishing is still being had. Local inshore reefs off Dee Why & Manly are producing good plate sized snapper & flathead with solid kingfish reports of fish over a metre being consistently landed. Live baits are readily being caught in the harbour at most of the bait grounds, yellowtail scad & squid are the most popular and both are proving very successful.
The Beach swell is on the way down after its recent rise and some stud bream & whiting are taking king worms in the close gutters. Fresh Arrow squid is working after dark on the tailor & salmon but be sure to expect a little extra attention from whaler & gummy sharks as these guys are prolific on most beaches after dark.
