Hooking Up Anglers Since 2011.
Weekly Fishing Report June 16 2017
With the wind & rain both fairly minimal during the week & the seas on the way down the beaches were providing good fishing for anglers with some decent captures recorded. Alex Bellissimo reports tailor & salmon for his clients at Dee Why & a soapy mulloway for himself, all fish were caught on live yellowtail scad. Dave Palmer picked up some fresh squid from the shop & landed whiting, bream, flathead & tailor from Curl Curl beach during an early evening session where he left the fish biting on his departure.
Some good kingfish are still being caught on our local in shore reefs as too are snapper to 3kgs, once again fresh squid is a popular bait out there.
Surprisingly the harbour is a lot cleaner than expected after the recent rains with plenty of flathead available from The Spit to North Harbour, soft plastic vibes worked well for Armen Kouch & Rob Haslam who both had some very hot bites while kayaking this week. Some solid Winter squid reports are coming in from the harbour with the new DTD prawn style jigs allowing anglers to troll & get beneath the freshwater that is sitting atop the salt, the ability to get a bit deeper is working well and providing many a household with a good feed of calamari.
Whole fresh arrow squid is available in store & its been working a treat on snapper, kings & mulloway so come on in & pick some up.
