Z Fish Report (7/20/17)

 | By Seamus on 7/20/2017 4:06:40 AM | Views (640)

French clients Carole Nottin, and her father Michael, fished  several days with
Adolfo on the panga Dos Hermanos, catching an incredible number of roosters
Offshore (average) surface water temperature - Includes from the 5-6 mile mark at the 100 fathom line, then to the 1,000 fathom line being at 32 miles: 89°.
Inshore (average) surface temperature. From the beach to about 5 miles: 85°
Blue water: (Chlorophyll amounts and surface temps from Terrafin SST) Blue water from the beach to way out. There are still a few isolated inshore areas with discolored water.

Offshore- The annual July mini-migration of sailfish has tapered off, with the sailfish action being fairy slow.
Yesterday (Wednesday), about 5 in the afternoon, we had a good rainstorm, and some wind. It did make the seas a bit rough today, and we had overcast skies all day, but everything will be calm and clear for the next several days.
The yellowfin tuna and dorado have also pulled a disappearing act, and are probably following the bait to other areas.

Inshore: The excellent roosterfish and large jack crevalle action is still holding up, especially down in the Petatlan area. Yesterday, of the 3 Dos Hermanos pangas, Cheva got 8, Jesus (Hay-soos) got 10, and Adolfo logged 15. Adolfo did tell me the jack crevalle are not around like they have been, but with the warm water and bait holding the roosters here, it is no major loss.
