Z Fish Report (10/25/18)

With Adolfo on the panga Dos Hermanos
It has been about three months since I last made a report. In the 20 years I have lived here, I have never seen this little rain from July to now. The fishing was very good, but I have never seen this few clients either. With no one fishing, I had nothing to report.
Adolfo also fished a day offshore
Other than the full moon this week, the fishing is still holding up and excellent. We did have a two day port closure, due to tropical storm Vicente passing out in front of us. With the rain we finally got in October, when the season should be over, we finally got a decent July. Now we just lack the two wettest months of August and September.

Offshore (average) surface water temperature - Includes from the 5 - 6 mile mark at the 100 fathom line, then to the 1,000 fathom line being about 32 miles: 86°
Inshore (average) surface temperature. From the beach to about 5 miles: 86°
Blue water: (Chlorophyll amounts and surface temps from Terrafin SST) The rain generated a lot of water coming from the rivers, creating some inshore murky water, but the strong blue water current is already cleaning it up. We got 10 inches of rain Monday, and the blue water is already back to the 4 mile mark today.

Offshore: The sailfish action remains decent. A couple of weeks ago there was 4 to 5 to a boat, and because of the moon phase this week, it is 2 to three. For each boat, there is about one dorado, of medium size, coming into the spread. No tuna have been reported.

Again, another client, but the same results for Adolfo

Inshore: The action remains the best bet. Last week Adolfo, on the panga Dos Hermanos, boat 43 roosters in two days. Both cheva and Adolfo are reporting slower action this week, but large sierras and jack crevalle.
