11 MILE MARINA TROUT CLASSIFICATION: Here at the Marina we always are trying to have fun. We classify Trout by size and here is our name system. FIDGET: fish 13 inches or smaller. TYPICAL: fish 13 to 16 inches. STANDARD: fish 16 to 20 inches. LUNKER: fish 20 to 25 inches GUNKER: fish bigger than 25 inches.

CONDITIONS:: Park is open 24/7/365. All Park facilities are open. Witchers Cove Boat Ramp open Friday through Sunday. Water level was dropping for the last few weeks. It has stabilized and is coming up slowly. You just never can predict when Denver Water and City of Aurora move water from Spinney downstream. Spinney levels currently dropping. Eleven Mile is traditionally stable with slight fluctuations like we see now. River flows can and do effect fishing. The Dream Stream at current flow is good for angling. The Canyon is a little low but still has lots of nice pools holding fish.

WATER FLOW:   IN 117  CFS    OUT: 86.9 CFS Water Temp 64

MARINA STORE AND LAKE SPECIALISTS: Camping, Fishing, Flies, Lures, Bait, Clothing, Food, Snacks, Drinks, Ice Cream and more.  Stop in and check out our offerings and get the latest fishing information.  We have a great store with great selection of what works.  Support the fishing report... Shop our store here at the lake. Stop in and find out how we can help you catch. Get a topo map. They say information is power. It's also critical to catching fish. The maps have GPS coordinates on them so you just can't miss. We want you to be successful here at the Mile. Get a map we will mark it up with the hot spots.

LEAD CORE TROLLING RIGS catch more fish. Let us show you how. Combo’s fully rigged with lead line and leader ready to catch starting at $129.00.. Lead core with a Tas can’t be beat. Buy a rig this weekend get a free Tasmanian devil.

TROUT: GOOD: Action remains consistent although some times a little more effort is required. Trolling lead core with Tas Devils has been productive. Down rigger with a variety of baits has also been consistent. Fish suspended from 20 to 30 feet. Always work the bottom too no matter where you are. We have had good days on the #502 Gold Super Duper, Needlefish brass bikini and Kastmaster with anything gold on it. Tube jigs have been hit and miss but when they hit it’s been very good. Shore anglers see best action early and late in the day. Night fishing is very good.

KOKANEE SALMON:POOR: There is little activity that is worth your time and effort. A pass here and there in channel areas is always on the menu but the fish might not be on the plate. You can usually pick up Trout in the process so it’s not a total loss. The ones caught are three year olds full of gill lice. We just call it like we see it and wish we could report better news here.

NORTHERN PIKE: FAIR TO GOOD: Action picked up considerably all around the lake last Friday and Saturday in particular. They were even catching them in Fresh Water Cove in the Back Country. Many larger fish then we have seen all Summer getting aggressive and showing their teeth. Big Sticks like Husky Jerks and big Spoons like Daredevles were doing really good. Bill’s Spinner Baits in Black/Blue and Chartreuse/ White also did well. Although soft Swim Baits look awfully good when retrieved just right apparently not good enough for the Pike as they were the least performing bait on the menu for us. It is pretty typical to see Pike action pick up as we move into Fall. We really like October for big fish action. Serious Fishermen Team Pike Tournament sign up forms available at Marina, Valley Country Tackle and Sportsman’s Warehouse in Colorado Springs. Hope to have on line sign up today or tomorrow. Check the Contest link above or call 719-748-0317 and sign up over the phone anytime.*

*This contest is sanctioned by Colorado Parks and Wildlife and encourages the harvest of Northern Pike in an effort to keep a proper balance in the lake. These fish have no predators except themselves and if left unchecked they can decimate Trout populations. Come learn how to fillet this delicious fish at our cleaning demonstration done by the experts and then taste them for yourself.

*SMALL MOUTH BASS: You probably have a better chance of catching one of these than a Salmon right now. They don’t talk about it much but CPW dumped in about 10,000 of them well over 10 years ago. No one targets them so they have been unmolested for all this time. They have turned up here and there over the years by people catching them by chance. The above fish she caught in a targeted effort on a small rainbow pattern Dynamic. We have tried numerous Rapala’s and tube jigs over the years with lost opportunities but none landed. It’s all about getting serious and putting in some time. The one above looks to be three or four years old so they are reproducing. Plenty of food and plenty of rocks to hide in. Wouldn’t be surprised if a State Record is hiding out here. If you are interested try the rock wall along the East shore in East Bay to the Denver Water Boat Ramp. We also like all around Deer Island. Over the years we have seen them caught in the Back Country coves, Duck Island and near the Ranger boat house at North Shore.

SPECIAL NOTE: 11 Mile Marina is located at the North Shore in Eleven Mile State Park, Lake George Colorado. A CPW Park Pass is required on all vehicles entering the Park.  Any fees for Guide/Outfitter/Rental services do not include Park fees, CO fishing license or gratuities.

The WEEKLY FISHING Report is produced by fishermen for fishermen. We try to get it done every Thursday but some times fishing or life gets in the way. So if its not there on Thursday morning it will show up by Friday. We appreciate all the support and acknowledge that many of you won't miss a week. Many Thanks. Oh and by the way there may not always be a  fish  pic.

Reservations and payments taken over the phone and purchases on line via credit card are secure.
