CONDITIONS:: Park is open 24/7/365. Spinney and Eleven Mile open for boating. Looks like Springtime in the Rockies. Proverbial don’t like the weather wait 15 minutes. Great time to visit the Park. Some signs of the annual Spring massive hatch on the horizon. This event makes the fish fat and happy and folks on shore running from the clouds of bugs. The mayfly hatch lasts about 10 days to 2 weeks and looks to be primetime by the Holiday weekend.

NO NO NAME: For many years many of you looked forward to the annual No Name Fishing Tournament hosted by the 11 Mile General Store usually held this weekend. Jim Collins sadly died last year and the tournament was cancelled. The family has subsequently closed the store and with it the annual right of Spring contest. We hear there is a fly fishing tournament this weekend but no one has contacted us with any information nor does the Park have much info beyond there will be a contest. We only know this because we have rented some boats to some anglers in the event. We guess the promoters want to keep it a secret. We’ll find out soon enough.

WATER FLOW:   IN 95.7  CFS    OUT: 88.7  CFS WATER TEMP: 48

TROUT:FAIR TO GOOD:. It looks like the bite is fair for most good for others. Big fish are being caught but a little work and effort may be the best asset in the tackle box.. The old standby Kastmaster has been very productive as well as Tasmanian Devils and Rapala’s. A fair number of anglers report good action pitching a Tas from shore which is interesting since most work it on the troll. Trollers have seen mostly smaller fish with shore anglers seeing the bigger ones. Typical Spring baits are working if you work them. Take ten casts walk ten yards. Like ice fishing a little move never hurts if you are in an inactive area. Look to Howbert, Rocking Chair and North Shore as most consistent. Fish early fish late but by all means fish!

KOKANEE SALMON: No reports of anything substantial.

NORTHERN PIKE:FAIR TO POOR: Smaller fish more active bigger ones yet to be seen.

SPECIAL NOTE: 11 Mile Marina is located at the North Shore in Eleven Mile State Park, Lake George Colorado. A CPW Park Pass is required on all vehicles entering the Park.  Any fees for Guide/Outfitter/Rental services do not include Park fees, CO fishing license or gratuities.

The WEEKLY FISHING Report is produced by fishermen for fishermen. We try to get it done every Thursday but some times fishing or life gets in the way. So if its not there on Thursday morning it will show up by Friday. We appreciate all the support and acknowledge that many of you won't miss a week. Many Thanks. Oh and by the way there may not always be a  fish  pic.

Reservations and payments taken over the phone and purchases on line via credit card are secure.
