ELEVEN MILE STATE PARK IS LOCATED IN THE SOUTH PARK NATIONAL HERITAGE AREA

*The Report is providing information about what is happening here. We are not encouraging or advising you to leave your home during “Shelter in place” order. Outdoor activities should be done in accordance with state of Colorado Health Department guidelines and Governor’s Executive orders. Parks currently remain open for a reason. Be safe.

SPINNEY MOUNTAIN STATE PARK: We have no new information. From the looks of it there does not appear to be much ice left.

PARK COUNTY UPDATE 04.18.20: Please go to parkco.us to read “STANDING PUBLIC HEALTH ORDER CLOSING ALL SHORT TERM RENTALS AND INCORPORATING STAY AT HOME ORDER” dated 04.16.20 4:36pm

CPW, the Marina and Covid-19: The Visitor Center and all campgrounds/playgrounds are closed in all Colorado State Parks until further notice. The Trails, shoreline areas , boat ramps and marina’s remain open. Go to CPW website for latest details. According to the Governors “Stay at Home” order “you should stay at home as much as possible except for critical activities including participating in outdoor activities at a legally mandated distance of six feet or more from other parties. We are a licensed Colorado Retail Food Establishment observing all best practices as required by CO Department of Health mandates. No more than 10 people in the store at one time including staff. Regular sanitizing of common areas. Newly installed splash and sneeze guards at counters. If you do not want to come in just call from your car outside and we can bring whatever you want to your vehicle.

RESERVATIONS BEING ACCEPTED: We are taking reservations for boating and guided trips this Summer. 100% money back guarantee on deposit with no cancellation fee if related to Covid-19 restrictions.

CURRENT CONDITIONS: A week of wind driven days has driven the ice to near extinction for the season. The lake appears to be about 15% ice covered from Duck and Deer Islands to the Damn. No news on any opening date for boating. In general it has been pure April. Cold, Windy, Snowy, Sunny, Warm for a minute and all things in between. Almost all shoreline areas are free of any ice. The water temp is in the 30’s. Add a slight breeze and clouds and you best dress for Winter because it will feel like it.. Snow in the forecast for today.

FISHING/HUNTING LICENSE: Contrary to early Corona rumors and social media mania no hunting or fishing regulations or seasons have been suspended. Your essential fishing addiction still requires a legally mandated essential license in your possession. All annual CPW licenses expired on MARCH 31.. We are a CPW licensed dealer for all hunting and fishing licensees. Don’t think for one minute you can use the current situation as an excuse to not have a license. Plus they need the money for the fish. CPW budget is primarily fee supported.. We do and are currently selling all CPW licenses. You can purchase online and we can print it out. We do not sell any State Park Passes or boating registrations. The Park office remains closed. If you don’t have a Park Pass bring $9.00 in cash for self service pass.

HOURS: OPEN FRIDAY thru MONDAY 8:00AM - 4:00PM. Tuesday thru Thursday depends on weather or not we show up.

PIC # 1: No words needed

PIC # 2: This trio have been hanging out together since they arrived They have been inseparable. Sounds like a possible Disney story. The Adopted Snow Goose.

PIC # 3: This Cutthroat was caught and released once before by a Northern. Two red scars on either side indicative of a very close call. If you have fished here long enough you have surely caught a fish with major bleeding gashes from a close call with death.

SUPPORT THE REPORT: Many thanks to all of you that support our store and business. We love you. Many Many Thanks! We are here for you with a great selection of what works and up to the minute fishing information. AS they say it doesn’t get any fresher than that!

WATER FLOW: 87.2 CFS IN 65.4 CFS OUT

WE HAVE THE BAITS: We love ice fishing. We primarily stock our sponsor’s products. Those include Eagle Claw, Pautzke, Northland, Acme, Rapala, Trout Traps, Beaver Damn, Luhr Jensen and StrikeMaster in addition to our regular offerings. We make our own ice fishing jigs that have produced here for many years, the Krystal Lazers and Tiny Tots. We have Night Crawlers, Meal Worms, Wax Worms, Mummified Wax Worms, WATER DOGS, Suckers, Salmon Eggs and more. Come on in and check em out

MARINA STORE AND LAKE SPECIALISTS: Camping, Fishing Equipment, Flies, Lures, Bait, Clothing, Food, Snacks, Drinks, Ice Cream and official purveyors of Boars Head brand products. Stop in and find out how we can help you catch. Get a topo map. They say information is gold. It's also critical to catching fish ESPECIALLY ON THE ICE. The maps have GPS coordinates on them so you just can't miss. We want you to be successful here at the Mile. Get a map we will MARK IT UP with the hot spots

TROUT:: FAIR TO GOOD: Shore action was great as the ice receded. and weather warmed. With the ice gone and temperatures dropping to the likes of single digits in the morning action has slowed up a bit. Gone are the hatches that were happening and turning on the Trout. They start again as soon as it warms up but that has not happened of late with highs in the 30’s. Egg sacks and a variety of baits like Garlic Power bait or night crawler and mallow have done well. Jigs have slowed up a bit. Kastmasters work well. Flies like egg patterns, crawfish, scuds and Woollies are working.too.

KOKANEE SALMON: NO REPORT

NORTHERN PIKE: NO REPORT Try Chartreuse Power Bait

SPECIAL NOTE: 11 Mile Marina is located at the North Shore in Eleven Mile State Park, Lake George Colorado. A CPW Park Pass is required on all vehicles entering the Park.  Any fees for Guide/Outfitter/Rental services do not include Park fees, CO fishing license or gratuities.

The WEEKLY FISHING REPORT is produced by fishermen for fishermen. We try to get it done every Thursday but some times fishing or life gets in the way. So if its not there on Thursday morning it will show up by Friday. We appreciate all the support and acknowledge that many of you won't miss a week but every now and then we might. Report takes a vacation in November. Fish On!
