ELEVEN MILE STATE PARK IS LOCATED IN THE SOUTH PARK NATIONAL HERITAGE AREA
CURRENT CONDITIONS: Lots of ice that is not melting with cold nights and mild days. Minor water appearing at river inlet. Ice thickness has not changed at 22 to 30 inches. There is no open water. Snow covering dissipating time to break out the cleats again. Just like Spring skiing we have Spring Ice Fishing. Although the ice is solid, the fish are biting and the days are mild please exercise caution. Given the current state of affairs it is a great time to get out of the city and chill on the ice. What are you going to do? When In Doubt Go Fishing! Better than sitting at home watching the news.

TROUT:: GOOD TO VERY GOOD:: CPW continues to stock Trout in the 10 to 13 inch range as it wraps up it’s Winter stocking program. There were plenty of nice fish weighed in at the contest even though the area is packed with stockers. Biggest was over five pounds with plenty of fish in the 2 to 3 pound range. Great weekend to get out on the ice, maybe the best of the Winter. To avoid the recently stocked fish which are spreading through out the lake try Rocky Flats, Suckers Cove, Howbert Point and Witchers Cove.
KOKANEE SALMON: FAIR TO GOOD: The bite has been stronger with opportunities increasing if you are ready to set the hook. Kastmasters continue to work best and yes size matters. Some days the 1/8 is best some days the 1/4 and even the 3/8 have done well. Without a fish finder your odds diminish. You need to see the fish in real time to get your bet in the sweet spot. North Shore in 60 feet of water with fish suspended has been the hot spot as compared to points East.
NORTHERN PIKE: FAIR TO IMPROVING: As we predicted action is picking up as we move into March. They seem to be interested in suckers and size does matter. We are using small ones that seem to be the trick. We have six packs and they are the size you need. The dogs just don’t seem to be tripping the flags like the suckers are.
SPECIAL NOTE: 11 Mile Marina is located at the North Shore in Eleven Mile State Park, Lake George Colorado. A CPW Park Pass is required on all vehicles entering the Park. Any fees for Guide/Outfitter/Rental services do not include Park fees, CO fishing license or gratuities.
The WEEKLY FISHING REPORT is produced by fishermen for fishermen. We try to get it done every Thursday but some times fishing or life gets in the way. So if its not there on Thursday morning it will show up by Friday. We appreciate all the support and acknowledge that many of you won't miss a week but every now and then we might. Report takes a vacation in November. Fish On!
