ELEVEN MILE STATE PARK IS LOCATED IN THE SOUTH PARK NATIONAL HERITAGE AREA

CONTEST WEEKEND: Many people are calling and want to come out this Saturday but are worried about the contest. Don’t worry be happy. On any given Saturday this Park is busy regardless of a contest. This one is at North Shore so it won’t impact any other fishing access areas. So come on out and have a great Eleven Mile time.

CURRENT CONDITIONS: THERE IS NO OPEN WATER. When it comes to the sport of ice fishing “ice” is the optimum word. Got Ice? You bet. It’s been years since we have seen such great ice conditions. Thickness still running 22 to 30 hard inches. Snow pack has diminished a little. Trekking easier in the morning snow gets soft as the day warms up. Spring Ice Fishing at it’s best. Thick ice and warm temperatures time to bring the grill. It’s always a good policy this time of year to stay away from rocks. They warm up fast in the sun and soften the surrounding ice. CR 90-92 in from Lake George is literally falling apart with warmer temps, watch yourself.

MARINA MARCH MADNESS: March 7, 2020. Check in starts at 5:00AM. All fishing done in the North Shore. Use your own equipment, fish anywhere in a very large designated area. Three separate fishing sets (contests). Cash paid for 1st - 3rd place each set. Big Fish is a random draw from the qualifying set winners. The name of the game is get a chip in the bucket. It’s Madness, it’s different and fun if you are not a sore loser because the actual biggest fish may not win. A random draw from potentially 6 teams. Must buy into optional Big Fish Pot. Slots available sign up day of contest. On Line registration is over.

HOURS: OPEN M-F 8:00AM to 4:00PM weather permitting. SATURDAY & SUNDAY 7:00AM - 4:30PM .

WE RENT ICE FISHING EQUIPMENT: Ice Master Package includes everything two people need of the latest greatest all new equipment. See link above for rates and details. We are Ice Fishing Outfitters. We feature the newest Strike Master Electric Power Auger. No gas no noise cuts the ice like butter.

FEATURED PRODUCT OF THE WEEK: With over 6 Billion dollars in annual tackle sales in the U.S. you clearly have many choices. We want to thank our 2020 Contest tackle sponsors. We use and catch fish on their stuff. Eagle Claw, Pautzke, Acme, Trout Traps, Rapala, Beaver Damn, Luhr Jensen, Northland. Marina March Madness Contest Specials this weekend. Buy any two sponsor products get one free of equal or lesser value. Does not include Pautzke Trout Eggs as a free product. Do not have to be in contest to get this deal but you have to say you saw it on the report.

SUPPORT THE REPORT: Many thanks to all of you that support our store and business. We love you. Many Many Thanks! We are here for you with a great selection of what works and up to the minute fishing information. AS they say it doesn’t get any fresher than that!

THIS WEEKS PIC: Aidan, 11 Mile Marina Pro holding a couple of great fish. Both fish caught on Pautzke Trout Egg sacks in the North Shore Marina area behind the building. No shit.

WATER FLOW: 128 CFS IN 136 CFS OUT

WE HAVE THE BAITS: We love ice fishing. We primarily stock our sponsor’s products. Those include Eagle Claw, Pautzke, Northland, Acme, Rapala, Trout Traps, Beaver Damn, Luhr Jensen and StrikeMaster in addition to our regular offerings. We make our own ice fishing jigs that have produced here for many years, the Krystal Lazers and Tiny Tots. We have Night Crawlers, Meal Worms, Wax Worms, Mummified Wax Worms, WATER DOGS, Suckers, Salmon Eggs and more. Come on in and check em out

MARINA STORE AND LAKE SPECIALISTS: Camping, Fishing Equipment, Flies, Lures, Bait, Clothing, Food, Snacks, Drinks, Ice Cream and official purveyors of Boars Head brand products. Stop in and find out how we can help you catch. Get a topo map. They say information is gold. It's also critical to catching fish ESPECIALLY ON THE ICE. The maps have GPS coordinates on them so you just can't miss. We want you to be successful here at the Mile. Get a map we will MARK IT UP with the hot spots

TROUT:: GOOD TO VERY GOOD:: The fish in the pic shows one very important thing. If you look closely at the female fish on the right there are eggs coming out of it. That means they are beginning to spawn under the ice. That’s why the Pautzke Trout Eggs have been so hot. Salmon eggs will also still work. The fish are sucking them off the bottom. The North Shore is full of recently stocked fish and makes things a little frustrating but the pic also proves that the big ones are also in the mix. This means fish shallow. When they are eating eggs they are also gulping night crawlers. Many baits are working and we still bring them in with spoons of a variety of patterns.

KOKANEE SALMON: FAIR: The story remains the same. They are there but they are not jumping on your hook. It takes work and luck. Bites have been later in the day. Depths vary from 15 to 40 feet in 50 feet or more of water. Look to working all the spoons to find the color of the day. White has been consistently productive. We like our garlic meals worms and Gulp Maggots in Natural or Chartreuse. Vexilar or similar units a must to really be in the game. The game is to catch 10 but you settle for anything you can get. Trout always seem to be around in the process.

NORTHERN PIKE: FAIR Visual contact shows them chasing the little ones in North Shore. They are still hard to get to hit your bait. A few small ones caught had well formed eggs in them which means they are also getting ready for Spring spawn. That will make them more aggressive. No real monsters caught but boy have we seen some. Suckers in just the right size set just right have tripped some flags.

SPECIAL NOTE: 11 Mile Marina is located at the North Shore in Eleven Mile State Park, Lake George Colorado. A CPW Park Pass is required on all vehicles entering the Park.  Any fees for Guide/Outfitter/Rental services do not include Park fees, CO fishing license or gratuities.

The WEEKLY FISHING REPORT is produced by fishermen for fishermen. We try to get it done every Thursday but some times fishing or life gets in the way. So if its not there on Thursday morning it will show up by Friday. We appreciate all the support and acknowledge that many of you won't miss a week but every now and then we might. Report takes a vacation in November. Fish On!
