Hooking Up Anglers Since 2011.
ELEVEN MILE STATE PARK IS LOCATED IN THE SOUTH PARK NATIONAL HERITAGE AREA
CURRENT CONDITIONS: Ice thickness running 20 to 26 inches with snow covering up to 12 inches on top of that. Low temperatures, recent fluffy snow with wind conditions has caused some drifting issues in areas around the lake. Access to Rodgers Mountain and Lazy Boy have been closed due to blowing snow. Clear and dry roads around most of North Shore access areas. Access open for Cross Creek, Suckers Cove, Howbert and most of Witchers. A pic posted on line last week along with a conditions report showing a truck buried in snow was not a truck from here. That was an old pic lifted off the internet from two years ago in another State. Go to CPW website for latest updates on any access closures. Be smart, no need to drive into a drift just to see what happens. The Park will not be able to assist you if stuck and getting a tow service is near impossible. It’s a spotty situation with most problems on the south side but we are NOT buried in snow and there is plenty of access to the lake that is just fine. CR 90 & 92 from Lake George is clear with some icy spots.

MARK YOUR CALENDAR: EAGLE CLAW PRESENTS THE 2020 COLORADO CLASSIC ICE FISHING TOURNAMENT SERIES: MARINA MARCH MADNESS will be held at the North Shore location. It’s a large and expansive area but teams must fish there. Sorry NO Basketball (those days are just a memory). Details will be printed and given to each team. 3 fishing sets.
FEATURED PRODUCT OF THE WEEK: Luhr Jensen Krocodile’s are very productive spoons through the ice. We like the pearl white, perch and fire tiger patterns. We catch all specie on this tried and true hardware. Tipped of course with meal, crawler or piece of sucker.
TROUT:: GOOD: Trout action continues to be good through out the lake. Bite times vary and they are little more particular then they have been but lots of nice ones still landed. The bigger fish are showing up in the shallows and interested in bait like Pautzke Trout or Salmon eggs. Some folks score on Power Bait. Stocker action continues unabated at North Shore Marina locations. Perfect for fun times with the kids. Also bigger fish on the prowl for the smaller ones. Howbert and Suckers Cove have done well in addition to Stoll Mtn. We still are catching typical, standards and an occasional lunkers in the deep water while hoping for salmon. Lots of different baits work its just a matter of going through the box and finding the right pattern. Stop in for latest info on the hot item.
KOKANEE SALMON: FAIR: The hike is not fun but when the schools stop underneath you it can be lots of fun. The larger schools tend to be the smaller fish. They have been biting better but they are still a challenging fish to catch. Limit of 10 does not come easy or at all. Some anglers report getting to 6-8. We still like working bigger spoons like the Krocodile, Kastmaster and Swedish Pimple. What is hot one day is not the next. CDY Kastmaster was hot a few weeks ago then went cold but was back at it yesterday. Our garlic meal worms seem to entice more than the regular. Gulp maggots in natural also have done well. Bite times vary but have been consistent later in the morning like 10:00AM till 11:00AM. We have consistently seen schools moving around straight out from North Shore Marina in 50 to 65 feet of water.
NORTHERN PIKE: FAIR TO POOR: A slower ice season to be sure. The fish are there but only the smaller ones seem to be interested. Patience and persistence can pay off. Try Rocky Flats to Stoll Mountain. North Shore has seen some monsters but they seem to be only interested in the stockers hanging around. Waterdogs and suckers best bet. The closer to the rocks the more fish we see. Try 3 to 12 feet of water as they tend to try and corral the smaller fish in the shallows.
SPECIAL NOTE: 11 Mile Marina is located at the North Shore in Eleven Mile State Park, Lake George Colorado. A CPW Park Pass is required on all vehicles entering the Park. Any fees for Guide/Outfitter/Rental services do not include Park fees, CO fishing license or gratuities.
The WEEKLY FISHING REPORT is produced by fishermen for fishermen. We try to get it done every Thursday but some times fishing or life gets in the way. So if its not there on Thursday morning it will show up by Friday. We appreciate all the support and acknowledge that many of you won't miss a week but every now and then we might. Report takes a vacation in November. Fish On!
