WE SINCERELY APOLOGIZE FOR NOT BEING ABLE TO ANSWER THE PHONE. We can only do what we can do at half staff and historic demand. Thank you in advance for your patience and understanding.

ELEVEN MILE STATE PARK IS LOCATED IN THE SOUTH PARK NATIONAL HERITAGE AREA

THE PARK OFFICE NOT THE PARK IS CLOSED ON WEDNESDAY AND THURSDAY DUE TO STAFF SHORTAGE. IF YOU ARE PLANNING ON COMING EITHER OF THOSE DAYS REMEMBER TO BRING $9.00 CASH FOR YOUR DAILY PARK ADMISSION PASS IF YOU DON’T HAVE AN ANNUAL. HECK JUST MAKE IT 10 BUCKS AND DONATE A DOLLAR. WE DO NOT SELL PARK PASSES AND ARE UNABLE TO MAKE CHANGE FOR THEM UNLESS YOU MAKE A STORE PURCHASE.. WE DO NOT HAVE AN ATM AND WE ARE SORRY BUT WE CAN’T GIVE CASH BACK ON PURCHASES. HECK WE CAN’T EVEN GET COIN CHANGE FROM OUR BANK. THEY SAY IT’S A COVID THING.

HOURS: MONDAY - FRIDAY 8:00AM TO 6:00PM SATURDAY - SUNDAY 7:00AM -7:00P ONLY 8 people allowed in the store at a time. We require you sanitize your hands upon entering. State wide mask order in place for all indoor public places. If you don’t have one to come in our store we can provide you with one. We can refuse service without one

PARK COUNTY FIRE BAN: NO FIRES NO SHOOTING PROPANE ONLY. Propane fire rings are legal. ITS A DROUGHT THING. WE HAVE ENOUGH PROBLEMS ALREADY WE DO NOT NEED A FOREST FIRE HERE. OBEY THE BAN PLEASE!!!

CPW, the Marina and Covid-19: The Stay at Home Order is now a “Safer At Home” order. Accordingly boating at State Parks and marinas are open. Campgrounds are open. Go to CPW link above for information. As a licensed CO Retail Food Establishment we follow all mandated guidelines and then some. Our store is big enough for effective social distancing and constantly being kept clean. All boats and PFD’s are sanitized after every use.

.WATER TEMP: 66

WATER FLOW: 129 CFS IN 95.7 CFS Out. WATER LEVEL stabilized last week and is coming up ever so slightly. Barely noticeable but very noticeable that is not going down.

CURRENT CONDITIONS: The Dog Days of Summer here in the high country quickly fade into colorful days of Fall. That is already starting as we quickly approach September which is literally like flipping a switch. Some Aspens are going to color now and the bite is back on. Smoke from Western fires is variable with the weather. Thorpe Fire in South Park Fire Protection District is not close to here and hopefully recent rains have helped. . Witchers Cove boat ramp is closed. Park office is closed on Wednesday and Thursday. Expect large crowds every weekend. With the Park office closed on Wed and Thurs we are inundated on those days with folks frustrated for Park services that we do not provide.

WATERCRAFT RENTALS: As people massively stream to the great outdoors to get respite from all that is Covid-19 we completely understand the need and desire to go boating and fishing. However the demand has exceeded our ability to provide the service that we would like to provide. We have decided to take the following action in an effort to eliminate the frustration of both customers and ourselves. Until further notice we will not be taking watercraft rental reservations over the phone. All boats will be first come first served OR by previous reservation OR reservation made in house. In addition reservations do not guarantee equipment. Our boats are being abused beyond belief. So it is very possible as we get deeper into the season that certain boats may be off line due to circumstances beyond our control and our inability to get replacement parts as needed.

PROP CHOP COUNT: 3 this past week. A cause for celebration! Almost. We were at 2 when a Marina staffer whacked one on a day off fishing run. He said what many do “I was in the middle of the lake…I swear”. Yep so are the islands.

PIC # 1: Camp Host and Marina staffer Nicole off a North Shore rock. Blue/Silver Rapala. Hip Hip Hooray!

PIC # 2: Skippy and Frank join in on the Pike action.

PIC # 3: 11 Mile Marina staffer, Brad and Dad not to be outdone by a little Pike action hit the Trout with success.

PIC # 4: Hey wait a minute that’s an 18 1/2 inch 3 1/2 lb Leven Mile Small Mouth Bass. Dang everything was biting this week.Stop in for all the juicy details. What where when how.

SUPPORT THE REPORT: Many thanks to all of you that support our store and business. We love you. Many Many Thanks! We are here for you with a great selection of what works and up to the minute fishing information. AS they say it doesn’t get any fresher than that!

MARINA STORE AND LAKE SPECIALISTS: Camping, Fishing Equipment, Flies, Lures, Bait, Clothing, Food, Snacks, Drinks, Ice Cream and official purveyors of Boars Head brand products. Stop in and find out how we can help you catch. Get a topo map. They say information is gold. It's also critical to catching fish from shore or boat. The maps have GPS coordinates on them so you just can't miss. We want you to be successful here at the Mile. Get a map we will MARK IT UP with the hot spots. Our tackle shop is fully stocked with all the great things you apparently can’t find at Cabela’s, Bass Pro and Wal Mart. TACKLE THE NEW TP…. go figure. Our tackle shop is fully stocked.

TROUT::GOOD: The bite is sporadic but strong when it happens. Tube jigging coming on. We like stinking up our jigs. Try some Pautzke Fire Gel. We have good luck with it. We are out of Garlic but the other scents like shrimp and crawfish work well too. Pitching spoons and spinners in the right spot can also work well.. Trollers doing well on Tas Devils and Needlefish. The days have been hot like everywhere else so look to deeper water during the day. We like 20 foot and deeper. Over flow channel seeing good size fish up to 20 inches on a regular basis. All the coves around the lake see fish hanging just outside the shallows in drop offs. In general lots of fish suspended 20 to 35 feet in any where from 25 to 60 feet of water.

KOKANEE SALMON: POOR and POORER: It’s always worth the try but hardly worth the effort. One or two if you are lucky. No fish have been stocked in two years but there are still decent numbers out there.

NORTHERN PIKE:: GOOD TO VERY GOOD: Action picked up dramatically last week with many respectable fish being caught and landed. Tube jigs, Bills Spinner Baits and a variety of spoons did the trick. The bite was happening all over the lake with your favorite spots finally kicking out some nice ones. Mid morning to late afternoon saw anglers having fun slamming Mr and Mrs. Toothy. Shore or boat it was a great week for those that like to eat Pike and maybe get one for the wall.

SERIOUS FISHERMEN TEAM PIKE TOURNAMENT has become another Covid casualty. Due to restrictions placed on us and the general unknown as to where these recent spikes are headed we have decided to take a pass this year on the contest. SORRY but we just think it is best all things considered.

SPECIAL NOTE: 11 Mile Marina is located at the North Shore in Eleven Mile State Park, Lake George Colorado. A CPW Park Pass is required on all vehicles entering the Park.  Any fees for Guide/Outfitter/Rental services do not include Park fees, CO fishing license or gratuities.

The WEEKLY FISHING REPORT is produced by fishermen for fishermen. We try to get it done every Thursday but some times fishing or life gets in the way. So if its not there on Thursday morning it will show up by Friday. We appreciate all the support and acknowledge that many of you won't miss a week but every now and then we might. Be Safe. Fish On!

EMPLOYMENT OPPORTUNITIES: No matter the time of year we are always looking for that right person that wants to work. Stop in or email.
