CPW, the Marina and Covid-19: The Stay at Home Order is now a Safer At Home order. Accordingly boating at State Parks and marinas are open. Campgrounds are open. Go to CPW link above for information. As a licensed CO Retail Food Establishment we follow all mandated guidelines and then some. Our store is big enough for effective social distancing and constantly being kept clean. All boats and PFD’s are sanitized after every use.
.WATER TEMP: 50 degrees. West end will be colder than East end by 2 or 3 degrees. We found 49 degrees West and 52 degrees East. It can make a big difference.
WATER LEVEL: We finally got the official word. Level is dropping for work on damn not drought conditions. They are looking to continue dropping until some time in November when work will be completed. We wouldn’t think the water will be replaced until Spring.
WATER FLOW: 68.9 CFS IN Gage broken CFS probably related to Damn repair.
CURRENT CONDITIONS: It has been dry. Mostly calm mornings and windy afternoons. Water level is low and dropping. Has to be down at least 3 1/2 feet. New hazards are not marked. Lake closes to boating October 31.

TROUT:: GOOD: Last week was awesome for many anglers. Lots of fish and big fish landed. Mostly Cuttbows running 15 to 24 inches. Trollers using Green Rainbow Pop Gear were having a field day. Others were doing almost as well. We found lots of action between Deer and Duck island using lead core and ultra lights on down rigger. The lucky charm was the 1/8 BT Kastmaster on down rigger and Y82, Pink Panther and Gold/Red Tasmanian Devils. Jigging was very productive if you hit the right bite time and conditions. White, pearl pepper and pumpkin pepper tube jigs were most consistent scented with garlic. Black Marabou jig in 1/4oz which is like impossible o find now, consistently caught big fish. Sundown brings awesome scenery and great catching. Shore anglers doing well on salmon eggs,, Pautzke Trout Eggs ( anew product) and
KOKANEE SALMON: POOR: Duck Island deep water. There are some moving up to the river and a few have been caught near Stoll out in the middle.
NORTHERN PIKE: FAIR TO GOOD: Action is spotty but this is the time of year the big ones bite. Try Husky Jerks in blue/silver, Perch and FT. Anything with orange also has been productive. Work the weed lines and drop offs. Mid morning to early afternoon but anytime is always a possibility. The big ones will be moving into shallow water as the water temp drops. We have caught monsters in November from shore in as little as 3 feet of water.
WINTER IS COMING: WE HAVE 10 STRIKE MASTER ELECTRIC POWER AUGER’S AVAILABLE NOW. THEY ARE IN OUR OPINION ONE OF THE BEST $589.99. We predict ice fishing gear will be in short supply if it was anything like this Summer. There is no reason to believe the supply chain issues will be rectified anytime soon.
SPECIAL NOTE: 11 Mile Marina is located at the North Shore in Eleven Mile State Park, Lake George Colorado. A CPW Park Pass is required on all vehicles entering the Park. Any fees for Guide/Outfitter/Rental services do not include Park fees, CO fishing license or gratuities.
The WEEKLY FISHING REPORT is produced by fishermen for fishermen. We try to get it done every Thursday but some times fishing or life gets in the way.
