TROUT: GOOD: Reports are that the lake continues to have a decent bite from one end to the other. Timing and location always the key. We have done well from Rocky Flats to Corral Cove and Howbert to Lazy Boy. Pink is hot again but colors do change up through out the day. There are Trout in the deep but more in the shallows form 35 feet to the shore. Some like only three feet of water with a sandy bottom. Tube jigs tipped with meal worm or crawler. You can scent the tubes up. Can’t hurt ut might help. Krocodiles have een a good spoon. Northland Buckshot rattles and of course Kastmasters
We like our 11 Mile Krystal Lazers and tiny Tots. You can almost always catch a fish on one of them. It just depends on the color de jour. Orange has been coming on lately as well as greens both dark and light. If the won’t hit your jig drop down to just the bait.
KOKANEE SALMON: FAIR TO GOOD: It is still ht and miss but that is pretty much how it is here. Although we had a great day on Sunday we did not on Monday. Fishing 58 feet of water the fish ave been up and down the column right down to the bottom. Although we believe in the :jigging machine with Pop Gear ours only goes down 30 feet and the fish at 50 aren’t coming for that obviously. But on Sunday that were mostly at the 25 to 40 foot depth and hung around for 30 minutes. When things get kokanne crazy you can be knocked out of the game for critical time because one fish causes havoc taking out the others creating a frustrating delay. Many more bites than hook ups to be sure and plenty that got off. Northland BuckShot Rattle and Kastmaster 1/4 oz CDY did the best. Orange crappie rig picked up the ones that were 16 to 20 feet down. Electronics is critical to success. If you have no jigging machine some anglers are finding success with a single blade dodger with 3 or 4 foot leader then your jig. Work it up and down vigoursly to bring them n.
NORTHERN PIKE: GOOD: One of the better seasons continue as reports of steady sightings followed by plenty of rejection and then just like that its game om. With out a doubt the water dog has produced the best so far. Last year they were only mediocre. Every year is different. We like 8 to 12 feet of Water. Rocky Flats to Stoll and points West. Howbert to Witchers Cove. We always see nice ones in Corral Cove. People having success also with whole sucker presented just right and occasional lucky fish on your Trout bait.
SPECIAL NOTE: 11 Mile Marina is located at the North Shore in Eleven Mile State Park, Lake George Colorado. A CPW Park Pass is required on all vehicles entering the Park. Any fees for Guide/Outfitter/Rental services do not include Park fees, CO fishing license or gratuities.
