Hooking Up Anglers Since 2011.
Aggressive and fast — queenfish are a classic northern sportfish, writes Western Angler editor Scott Coghlan in this edition of Scott’s Species. With a couple of good queenies caught in the State's north this week, at towns including Exmouth, we take a look back at Scott's queenfish insights from earlier this year. Read the full Scott's Species column!
Dinghy and small boat fishers have been catching squid, herring and King George whiting within 1.5km off the coast. There are still lots tuna vatieties around. Queen snapper, harlequin fish and breaksea cod were among the species caught near the islands. Those who travelled beyond the islands scored big nannygai, Samson fish and yellowtail kingfish.
