From beaches, to rivers and estuaries, tailor are a special species that many WA fishers value dearly, especially for those based along the State’s west coast. In this week’s edition of Scott’s Species, Western Angler editor Scott Coghlan writes about the favourite near-shore species with razor teeth. Read more about tailor in this week's Scott's Species.
Herring are great to catch! They are a sought-after recreational species, but they can be temperamental to catch. Sometimes herring will eat everything that hits the water with a hook in it, while at other times they can be incredibly frustrating. The frustration is usually caused by these fussy little feeders ability to see the line coming out of the baited offering. Click the photo above to watch our instructional YouTube video about how to easily tie a herring rig or read more about the fish on 'I Love Fishing'.
Funded by recfishing licence fees, the ongoing marron stocking program will see 300,000 marron stocked across the Peel and South West regions over the next three years. If you want to see the highlights from a recent release, click the photo above or read more here.
