This past week I fished with Ross and Craig, we were out for Tarpon. We started out on some Snook to get warmed up. Once we caught a bunch of Snook we made the move and looked for Tarpon. We found them off the coast and put out 2 live pinfish. They were thick and it took 20 minutes or so. Ross hooked up and had a 50-60 lb. Tarpon going nuts. At the same time a really nice Tripletail swam up next to the boat. Craig caught it, while I was taking his picture a second Tarpon ate the pinfish on his rod. It was very cool we had 2 Tarpon around the same size going into different directions. We sat there and both anglers fought their Tarpon , Craig’s jumped off and Ross caught his. We did this a few times until the quit biting. We headed back towards Flamingo and had a Pompano skip next to the boat. We stopped and bounced Gulp Shrimp in the area . We didn’t get a Pompano but we did catch a bunch of Trout. The next stop was get Craig a big Shark, not very hard they are everywhere right now. We hooked and caught a couple and then called it a day.

I fished the Take Stock in Children out of Key Largo this weekend with my son James and friend Mitch. We caught allot of fish but couldn’t find the big Snook. They caught a ton of 24-27 inch Snook, Redfish up to 24 and Trout. We have been fishing this tournament for years and always seem to have a great bite on Saturday night. This year was no different. We got into a mad feeding frenzy of Snook, Tarpon and Jacks. all on Top Water lures. It lasted about 2 hours, while Key Largo was getting a serious rain and lightning storm. Lightning was cracking close by but the bight was to good to leave. great time with my son and Mitch.

The next few weeks the Mullet run will be taking off and South Biscayne Bay will produce some great Mutton Snappers Groupers and big yellow Jacks. This is a really fun fishery!

Fishing is pretty good right now the full moon last week may of hurt it a little. There are plenty of fish being caught and lots of fun at Flamingo, Biscayne Bay or Key Largo. Caught Lookin Charters is a family friendly charter. If you would like to try any of these spots give me a call at 305 333 8149.
