WHEN/WHERE/HOW: Saturday October 30. 12:PM on the deck at the Marina Store. If you are new to ice fishing or not this seminar will be informative and fun. Larry Falk, Guide and Owner of 11 Mile Marina will present an A to Z informative seminar with Q and A to follow. Larry has been a Presenter at many ISE shows and has given his ice fishing talks all around the State. Learn techniques and spots to fish at Eleven Mile. Get ready get set lets go ICE FISHING 2022!! *might be a good idea to bring a small camp chair. Special deals and in store offers may apply!!

SUPPLY CHAIN AND ICE FISHING: We got it right when we told you about Pure Fishing products early in the season. Almost impossible to get Trilene line all Summer and many other Pure Fishing brands including Power Bait. Eagle Claw also had a very difficult time this Summer. Now it could be getting worse. We think there will be a decent selection of ice fishing products in the stores but that won’t last long. We still have not received our Shappell and Eagle Claw products. We were told to expect shipping on November 1 but don’t expect more than 60% of what we ordered initially. We ordered 25 Strike Master 40 V Lithium Power Augers. We received 13. Our Northland Rep called us yesterday and said “panic” buying was setting in from retailers. It is what it is you get what you can get. If you are coming to the seminar this Saturday we have the Strike Master Augers and some other things. Surprisingly the augers did not go up in price YET.

MARINA STORE AND LAKE SPECIALISTS: Camping, Fishing Equipment, Flies, Lures, Bait, Clothing, Food, Snacks, Drinks, Ice Cream and official purveyors of Boars Head brand products. Stop in and find out how we can help you catch. Get a topo map. They say information is gold. It's also critical to catching fish on the ice. The maps have GPS coordinates on them so you just can't miss. We want you to be successful here at the Mile. Get a map we will MARK IT UP with the hot spots. WE ARE HERE FISHING EVERYDAY AND CAN PUT YOU ON THE FISH.

PIC # 1: Nora lands this classic Eleven Mile Brown. Pic courtesy L. Short

PIC # 2: The wind was too fierce to go out in the boat. So Larry hit Sucker Cove to hide from the wind on shore. Caught and released four and missed a bunch. Green tube black flakes.

PIC # 3: Lots of smiles last week.

PIC # 4: Take me to the river

TROUT: GOOD: It’s hot it’s not that seems to be how things are going. Wind has been rough but the fish don’t care. Find the right spot on shore and you will be protected and catch. Boaters have seen sporadic bites through out the day but very few if any boats out the last three days. Look to calmer conditions and a great way to close the boating season this weekend. Lake is open 24/7/365 so November will see continued shore activity. Lots of different baits are working. All of the regular suspects have done well. It’s all about the color the size and time of day. Switch up if you are not catching. Move your shoreline position if it is slow it could be hot 50 feet down the shoreline. Mid afternoon has seen a strong bite.

KOKANEE SALMON: POOR: They sure are moving up the river. When you see the large numbesr of four year olds moving up it makes you wonder why we can’t find or catch them in the lake through out the Summer. These are the most finicky fish in the lake. Waiting for the ice where we seem to do way better. YOU CANNOT KEEP THESE SALMON FROM THE RIVER. WE HAVE SEEN SOME REALLY BAD FOLK LITERALLY SNAGGING IN THE RIVER. IT IS ILLEGAL. When CPW began releasing the Kokanee in the river they hoped they would successfully move upstream and spawn. It appeasr that is starting to happen as we have caught super small salmon this Summer and there has been no stocking in two years.

The other thing that is frustrating is seeing anglers wading in the river this time of year. There are Salmon, Browns and Cuttbows spawning. Why would you want to destroy spawning beds and that’s what happens when you trudge in the river. It’s the easiest river to fish from shore.

NORTHERN PIKE: GOOD: Some slowing of the action but just like the Trout bite on bit off. Look to mid morning and late afternoon. Big Sticks and big tubes have been productive. We like Witchers Cove and Corral Cove on the East and points West from Stoll to Cross Creek. Still having best luck in 8 to 10 feet of water.

SPECIAL NOTE: 11 Mile Marina is located at the North Shore in Eleven Mile State Park, Lake George Colorado. A CPW Park Pass is required on all vehicles entering the Park.  Any fees for Guide/Outfitter/Rental services do not include Park fees, CO fishing license or gratuities.

The WEEKLY FISHING REPORT is produced by fishermen for fishermen. We try to get it done every Thursday but some times fishing or life gets in the way. So if its not there on Thursday morning it will show up by Friday. We appreciate all the support and acknowledge that many of you won't miss a week but every now and then we might. Be Safe. Fish On!

EMPLOYMENT OPPORTUNITIES: No matter the time of year we are always looking for that right person that wants to work. Stop in or email. HIRING NOW.
