January 9 2022 – Well that was pretty nice start to January fishing last week with air temps in the mid 70s and winds down around the 10 – 12 knots mark here in Key West. The hustle and bustle of Key West slowed a bit but our fishing charter schedule still stayed pretty busy both in the backcountry and offshore. As Key West starts to get prepped for the up coming season the weather will make a bit of a change at the end of the week. Fishing Report Our most popular fishing charter last week was backcountry fishing. We had some great catches of nice sized speckled sea trout and great rod bending with jacks and barracudas. Seems as though every trip was coming back with some nice mangrove snappers or mutton snappers for some lunch dates. For some of our anglers we had a nice push of New Years Tarpon to highlight a great week in the back. The offshore front was mixed last week. The blue water bite deep sea fishing really came to a stop after an outstanding Christmas week we had on mahi mahi we were crushing before. Seemed like any formidable Palegic worth [...]
