January 17th 2021 – Looking out the window right now here in Key West, the only thing we are lacking is the snow. Well, and the sub freezing temps that the rest of the country is settling in with. Its really windy right now but we have better weather ahead here next week for Key West fishing in January. Fishing Report Last week was pretty lack luster across the board for our fishing here in Key West. Coming up on the full moon we have not seen anything that stands out of the norm for this time of the year. Deep sea fishing we were seeing some good catches of blackfin tunas on the afternoon bite with the occasional sailfish and some mahi that came in to be caught while the Gulf Stream was pretty close. On the reef the yellowtail and mutton snapper bite was pretty good before the winds and some wahoo were caught out West by some folks that were targeting a Kingfish. In the backcountry we really thought the tarpon were going to show up again to entertain our folks with a nice early year bite but that did not happen with any consistency. To shut [...]
