Offshore: Today's conditions will be a bit choppy at times with winds north to northwesterly 15 to 20 knots tending west to southwesterly in the morning, then tending south to southeasterly 10 to 15 knots in the late morning. Inshore winds north of Noosa Heads reaching up to 20 knots in the afternoon and seas 1 to 2 metres, decreasing to 1 metre during the morning. Tomorrow will be similar with annoying choppy conditions with winds east to southeasterly 10 to 15 knots, reaching up to 20 knots at times in the afternoon and early evening and seas below 1 metre, increasing to 1 to 1.5 metres offshore. Recently the mackerel have been feeding on local reefs as well as sweetlip and snapper. Cougar One skipper Nat Turner, fished on the outside of Sunshine Reef towards Chardon's on Tuesday in very good conditions. The current was running from the north bringing some nice blue water. We caught snapper, Moses perch, Maori cod, gold spot cod and venus tusk fish. We did have one bite on the floater but didn’t hookup. www.fishingnoosa.com.au/bluewater.htm Hall's Reefs have been producing spanish mackerel and small snapper. Spanish mackerel from Currimundi Reef. Spotty and spanish mackerel from Coolum. Caloundra 5 mile reef has had a few solid spanish mackerel.
Noosa: Trevally, flathead grunter bream and a few mangrove jack to 48cm in Woods Bays. Quality elbow slapper whiting with fish in the 40cm range and a few grunter throughout the lower river. Mud crabs on the move throughout the river.
Maroochydore: Plenty of bream and a few quality golden trevally on the making tide in the lower river. Whiting to 36cm in the lower river. Mangrove jack from the Cod Hole and Twin Waters Canal. Flathead from the mouth of Eudlo Creek.Mud crabs throughout the river.
Mooloolaba: Whiting and a few good grunter bream in Mountain creek and Kawana Canals. Estuary cod and bream from the Twin Bridges. Bream and golden trevally from the boat moorings. Mud crabs in the canals and lower river.
Caloundra: Trevally, bream and tarwhine between the bar and Coast guard Jetty. Flathead and grunter in Bells Creek. Mud crabs throughout the passage. Quality whiting on the banks out from Golden Beach.
Cathy and Brian Dayes from Windorah had a great day on Tuesday in the lower Maroochy, for whiting to 36cm and Cathy's fighting golden trevally.
