ICE ON
THE WEEKLY FISHING REPORT IT’S ABOUT THE CATCHING
FISHING REPORT WEATHER STATION: The station is hooked up and you will see it at the bottom of the report. Camera to be hooked up soon. Since it will be on top of the building we are delaying a bit. Might be closer to Spring.
SUMMER FISHING GUIDED TRIPS: Taking reservations now
MARINA STORE OFF SEASON HOURS: SAT AND SUN 7:00AM - 4:30PM Weekdays hours may vary based on staff availability. HIGH SEASON HOURS BEGIN MAY
CURRENT ICE CONDITIONS: NO SIGNIFICANT OPEN WATER. 99.9% ice covered. There is no doubt that it is still Ice On.with 18 to 22. We got a late start now its a late finish. Getting on and off should be no issue this weekend depending on where you go. Not much has changed this week. It has been cold overall with about 4 new inches of new Spring snow on Wednesday which will slush up quickly and freeze overnight. Be careful many have stepped in previous ice holes that did not freeze over very much and now covered with snow. Shoreline edges are getting soft in some areas. Extreme Caution advised for late season. Certainly access to the ice at Coyote Ridge looks to be no issue in general. There does not appear to be any fishable open water from shore that is accessible yet based on our observations. Roads clear and dry. Things can change daily depending on the weather. We will post conditions as they develop. At this point we can’t imagine boating much before May given the ice thickness at this stage of the game. Water clarity poor in many areas as snow melt drains in.

TROUT: FAIR TO GOOD: More stocking trucks visited the lake last week. The North Shore is full of them and stockers are showing up around the lack in general. Big fish are in spawn mode and are cruising the shallows. Go with a bait presentation.. Eggs or crawlers laying on the bottom. A fair number of nice trout caught by salmon anglers in deeper water. Lazers and Tots still effective but must be tipped with some kind of bait offering.
KOKANEE SALMON: FAIR TO GOOD:: OK maybe this is the last weekend you can go salmon fishing or maybe not. Access still acceptable particularly to Duck Island from Coyote Ridge. Deep water from Deer Island has been good all season and still accessible no problem. A lot of fish but a lot of lockjaw. of late. Opportunities are there but also frustration when clouds of fish snub your offerings. Still catching but limits are much more challenging.
NORTHERN PIKE: GOOD: Action is decent with some anglers catching a good number of fish. Everyday is different that is sure when it comes to Eleven Mile Pike. Some big ones cruising the shallows. It looks like 7 to 10 feet is a good depth. We want you to be successful here at the Mile. Get a map we will MARK IT UP with the hot spots. WE ARE HERE FISHING EVERYDAY AND CAN PUT YOU ON THE FISH.
