“ITS ABOUT THE CATCHING”

STORE HOURS: SATURDAY/SUNDAY 7:00AM TO 4:00PM MONDAY, FRIDAY 8:00AM - 4:00PM (Closed Tuesday Wed Thursday unless we’re here or by reservation) We will take Guide reservations for any date

CURRENT CONDITIONS: The wind has continued. We are seeing calm mornings. Dusting of new snow. Today called for wind and it was a picture perfect day with calm conditions. Temps have been on the colder side. Ice thickness running 23 plus inches. Lots of ice to clear away after digging a bunch of holes. West end is seeing some glare ice patches as snow has been blown off here and there. From North Shore East is completely snow covered with drifts. At this point we have plenty of ice fishing for March hard water angling. Late season ice is usually productive and fun.

WE RENT ICE FISHING EQUIPMENT: Reservations highly advised or first come first served

WATERCRAFT RENTAL: Lots of people are making appropriate plans for the Summer. Many campsites are sold out by April. Boating reservations available now. Effective with the 2023 Season for all kinds of reasons we will no longer rent Canoe’s, Kayak’s and SUP’s. We will be introducing a retail offering of paddle sports equipment. Details to be announced soon. In addition we will also be offering a limited number of waterside secured storage rack space for your own canoe, kayak or SUP. If your go to lake is Eleven Mile leave your boat with us. Rates will be monthly or seasonal. Call for more information and reservations.

WATER FLOW: 53.5 CFS IN 57.4 CFS OUT

WATERDOGS AND FROZEN SUCKERS IN STOCK

Weather Station: Although we got our on site live weather station working as seen below we have had technical issues with the camera feed and still have not solved the problem.

ELEVEN MILE STATE PARK IS LOCATED IN THE SOUTH PARK NATIONAL HERITAGE AREA

SPINNEY MOUNTAIN STATE PARK: Closed for the Season.

CONTEST STUFF: Wednesday March 15 last online sign up. Not currently sold out.

EAGLE CLAW COLORADO CLASSIC ICE FISHING TOURNAMENT 2023: MARINA MARCH MADNESS MARCH 11. This super fun event has had its changes over the last 20 years. All angling is done in an expansive designated area near the marina. There were some years where there was no accessible ice at the North Shore and we opened the contest up to the whole lake. Whenever conditions allow we have it here and there should be no issues this year. There will be three 2 hour contest sets of fishing with cash and points earned for each set. The BFP is a random draw from potentially three qualifying fish. Use your own equipment. Live Entertainment at the 20th Anniversary Awards ceremony/BBQ. SIGN UP NOW. THE LAST TWO CONTESTS SOLD OUT DAYS PRIOR TO EVENT. SLOTS STILL AVAILABLE

MARINA STORE AND LAKE SPECIALISTS: Camping, Fishing Equipment, Flies, Lures, Bait, Clothing, Food, Snacks, Drinks, Ice Cream and official purveyors of Boars Head brand products. Stop in and find out how we can help you catch. Get a topo map. They say information is gold. It's also critical to catching fish on the ice. The maps have GPS coordinates on them so you just can't miss. We want you to be successful here at the Mile. Get a map we will MARK IT UP with the hot spots. WE ARE HERE FISHING EVERYDAY AND CAN PUT YOU ON THE FISH.

A lot more folks have been using our ice rink this year and we have a few odds and ends in case you forget a puck or two, break a stick need some tape or laces etc. WE HAVE HOT CHOCOLATE TOO1

PIC # 1: Fishing for salmon catching nice size Trout.

PIC # 2: Those salmon are chunky and spunky.

PIC # 3: Backside of Spinney on a windy day. The lake is down so low the west end was not ice covered so the lake bottom silt kicks up in the wind.

TROUT: FAIR TO GOOD: Action has picked up considerably. Trout in shallow and out deep. Pink Paddle Bug and Pink Krystal Lazers tipped with meal or wax worm doing very good. Bite in pic above was late morning to early afternoon.

KOKANEE SALMON: FAIR to almost good: We saw lots of fish for the first time in a while but most had lock jaw. Lost a few so overall things have improved mainly because we saw lots of fish. Started coming in after 11:00AM and were top to bottom. Very particular. The Paddle Bug and Lazers also worked well as the spoons were not as productive as we had hoped. Plenty of fish down deep but could not get them to bite. North Shore 60 feet of water.

NORTHERN PIKE: FAIR TO POOR: Action is still not where we would like but that’s what catching is all about. Its hard to tell if moving is worth it when you see the tip up flag spring up after a long wait sitting there with no action for hours. Maybe its best to work an area with one tip up as a centerpiece while moving in a 360 swing around over the course of the day. Hopefully as we move into late season action will pickup

SPECIAL NOTE: 11 Mile Marina is located at the North Shore in Eleven Mile State Park, Lake George Colorado. A CPW Park Pass is required on all vehicles entering the Park.  Any fees for Guide/Outfitter/Rental services do not include Park fees, CO fishing license or gratuities.

The WEEKLY FISHING REPORT is produced by fishermen for fishermen. We try to get it done every Thursday but some times fishing or life gets in the way.
