ICE REPORT: ICE ON! 12.22.22 The lake is finally 100% ice capped..MERRY CHRISTMAS!! As the ice continues to build mass it will be volatile with pressure ridges popping up here and there. All pressure ridges should be avoided and or treated with respect if you dare cross. The noises you hear are the sounds of expanding ice. Ice quakes possible. Ice cleats are necessary unless you are to cheap to buy them. Crack your head you will. Most ice over 7 inches.and growing.
CURRENT CONDITIONS: Glare ice no snow covering. The small amount that fell has blown away. No shortage of wind today. All roads are clear all fishing access areas are open. For the most part the front that came through with cold air missed us with a low temperature this morning of only -4 which is pretty normal up here this time of year. Above average temperatures predicted through Monday. Water is murky on the West end due to a strong flow out of Spinney. They have been dumping water from there since Fall so if it was low at the end of the Season you ain’t seen nothing yet come Spring.

WATER FLOW: 135 CFS IN 144 CFS OUT
WATERDOGS: Waterdogs have been a hot bait for PIKE through the ice. We have made predictions before regarding supply issues on certain products as things have been challenging the last two years. We don’t see good news on waterdogs moving forward. Drought conditions in critical areas and early freeze will more than likely restrict supply overall. We just got some in and anticipate there being a supply in the early part of the season. But when they’re gone the right size will be near impossible to get. Bring your bait bucket and put them up..they last a long time.
Weather Station: Although we got our on site live weather station working as seen below we have had technical issues with the camera feed and still have not solved the problem.

TROUT: GOOD: The early ice at Cross Creek/Sucker Cove was epic for a lot of anglers. Things have cooled off a bit there and the ice has come on strong around the lake so it’s time to leave the crowd behind. We mean really! who wants to go ice fishing with no place to park. Stoll Mountain, Howbert Point, Witchers Cove and North Shore seeing decent action. It depends on the day with some days requiring a dead stick with a small jig and some days requiring a vigorous spoon. We have the best Kastmaster selection going but we also do well with Krocodiles and Northland jigs. Stop in for the latest report.
KOKANEE SALMON: NO REPORT: The season usually starts on the East end with the schools moving West as we progress into Winter. The ice is thick enough now where some anglers will start to try and find them. We have not fished out there yet but we did ice checks with most running 6 or more. Beware of earlier ice and pressure ridges.
NORTHERN PIKE: FAIR TO GOOD: They have gotten more aggressive of late with a fair number of fish over 29 being landed. Waterdogs and suckers doing well. Try Stoll Mountain, Rocking Chair and cove off of Rodgers Mountain. Mid morning to early afternoon but you just never know.
SPECIAL NOTE: 11 Mile Marina is located at the North Shore in Eleven Mile State Park, Lake George Colorado. A CPW Park Pass is required on all vehicles entering the Park. Any fees for Guide/Outfitter/Rental services do not include Park fees, CO fishing license or gratuities.
