THREE BIG BITES!

 | By Seamus on 6/16/2011 6:58:41 AM | Views (42) While I was dolphin fishing with a family group yesterday, there was some good bigeye tuna action up north, so we headed there today with Jim Feldman & his crew from northern VA and Washington, D.C. We went around a school of bonitos in the early morning and had a single bite.....felt like a heavy fish....was thinking big yellowfin or small bigeye.....line going straight down and behind the boat when suddenly I see a commotion off the port side and its a blue marlin jumping.......HOOKED UP BLUE MARLIN.....damm thing had a 150 yards of belly in the line and we still had 9 lines in the water hoping to get a few more tuna bites....anyway, got everything cleared and Evan Feldman, from Gaithersburg, VA did a great job keeping the line tight, and after 25 minutes released a 250 lb blue marlin. Later in the morning, with not much going on, I was circling an area where a very few bigeyes were hooked, contemplating what to do for Plan B, when two reels sceemed as the bigeyes hit us....45 minutes later, James Dooley, from Burke, VA boated a 172 lb bigeye tuna and after a hour and 20 minute sliugfest, Ben Ruedasill boated a 197 lb bigeye tuna.
