Hooking Up Anglers Since 2011.
The reef fishing has been pretty active the last couple of days here at Bud N Mary's. It was a little windy yesterday, but a handful of boats still made it out on their Islamorada Fishing Trips. The Catch 22 had a dozen mahi to 12 lbs as well as 3 sailfish releases. The Kalex and Relentless both anchored down and had nice catches of yellowtail snapper. Almost every offshore charter boat made it out today for a reef fishing trip. The BNM released a sailfish and had 20 snappers including muttons, mangroves, and yellowtails. They also released 6 black grouper including 3 would be keepers, (hopefully they are still around in May when the season opens back up). The Reel McCoy also released a sailfish and had a bucket full of yellowtail snapper. The Relentless and Finnster both had some nice king mackerel to 20 lbs as well as a handful of mahi on the Relentless and yellowtails on the Finnster. The Kalex had a few dolphin incuding one nice fish close to 20 lbs, as well as 30 yellowtails. The Sugaree had a few big amberjack including one over 60 lbs. They also had some big sharks eat some amberjacks offshore at one of the humps. Our spring time (March and April) provides a really good shot at catching big tiger, hammerhead, and bull sharks, with some approaching 700-800 lbs. If you ever want to do some Monster Shark Fishing now is the time off Islamorada.
