Hooking Up Anglers Since 2011.
A few boats have been fishing both offshore and backcountry the last few days. Today the Relentless, BnM, and Catch 22 all caught a broadbill swordfish, as well as some mahi. None of the swordfish were very big, but the old famous saying "A sword is a sword" still applies. The Finnster caught and released a nice blue marlin in the 175 - 200 lb range which is always a nice suprise while fishing off of the Keys. Yesterday the BnM also released another florida keys swordfish at the very end of the day, cause in fishing it's not over till it's over! Most of the mahi's the last few days have been schoolies (3-5 lbs), but there's been a few gaffers mixed in around 8 - 15 lbs each day as well. In the Backcountry Capt Vinnie Bindoletti reported quite a bit of action the last couple of morning including trout, jacks, ladyfish, blacktip sharks, and a couple tarpon too.
