Hooking Up Anglers Since 2011.
The weather has been very nice the last few days. The winds were 10 - 15 knots for a few days and then today only about 10 knots. There's been quite a variety of fish caught on the Islamorada Deep Sea Fishing Charters too. The dolphin (mahi) have been a little on the tough side, about 1/2 the boats have been finding them. The Relentless had 25 fish today as well as releasing an unexpected 200 lb blue marlin! If you are patient and put your time in the better your odds. The best catches of mahi have came from floating debris. On the humps the Fall run of blackfin tuna has started too. Boats have been catching any where from a handful for dinner up to 20 or so fish. Mostly "football" (3-10 lbs), but if the live bait becomes more prevalent we should see a handful of bigger 20 + pounders mixed in. Back towards the reef there's been a decent bite of yellowtail snapper, lane snapper, mangrove snapper, and vermillion snapper. Not always the biggest fish, but some of the best eating as well as some of the most action packed fish. The day time swordfishing has been tough the last 2 trips for the Bn'M, but we did catch one our last trip about 60 lbs. Hopefully the bite picks back up here a few days past the full moon.
