Hooking Up Anglers Since 2011.
The October fishing in Islamorada has really been great the past few days. There been a few offshore fishing charters each day, on both the reef as well as further offshore. The Kalex went offshore today and had an unbelievable catch!! They had 35 mahi to 30 lbs, 4 blackfin tuna to 30 lbs, and then released a double header sailfish! Great Job! On the reef the Sugaree has plenty of action too. They had a limit of king mackerel up to 20 lbs, a 10 lb mutton snapper, a 15 lb blackfin tuna, and 25 yellowtail snapper. Yesterday the BNM went on a daytime swordfishing trip and was able to get in a few good hours of fishing before some squalls moved in. Fortunately we had 3 bites and caught all 3! The biggest was 146 lbs, another 125 lbs, and a 75 lber. We also caught a couple football blackfin tunas and a 25 lb mahi. The Kalex stayed on the reef yesterday and had a limit of king mackerel to 12 lbs, a few tuna, and released a sailfish. On the 8th the Kalex had 15 blackfin tuna up to 20 lbs and then found a pair of mahi, including a 40 lb Bull! Fishing in the Fall here brings lots of different types of fish, and it changes every day, but there always something to catch while Islamorada Fishing!
