Hooking Up Anglers Since 2011.
Shop Tip: Due to its unusually cold spring water, The Met sees primarily Golden Stones. Very few giant salmonflies hatch on this river. Concentrate on Goldens and don’t worry about salmonflies. Additionally, unlike other rivers (like the Deschutes) that see tremendous stonefly activity for about a month, here on The Met the GS hatch goes on, and on, and on for about 3-4 months!! However, we don’t usually see the enormous clouds of stones one may observe on other rivers. Instead, we see GS in consistent, albeit, smaller numbers. Fish will move on and off the GS hatch. All that said, it's a great time to cruise the upper river casting GS against the bank and under overhanging vegetation.
RAINBOWS: Golden Stones, Green Drakes, Caddis, PMDs, BWOs, Yellow / Green Sallies, Midges, Rusty Spinner
BULL TROUT: has been consistent as always. I’ve experienced good BT activity in the mornings and evenings. Steelhead gear and tactics prevail. A variety of streamers and nymphs will hook these guys. We have over 30 different BT streamers in our shop!
