Hooking Up Anglers Since 2011.
Fishing has been hit or miss in July which is the norm this time of year. As water temperatures heat up and many fish are coming and going the fishing can change overnight. Yesterday many guides including myself struggled with only a handful of fish caught. Bait was very tough to boot with mullet around but very finicky. Though Capt. Mike Bassett made out good. He ran deep into the glades into some skinny creeks. They caught several snook, 3 baby tarpon, redfish, and snappers for dinner. Today was a different story bait wasn't easy but was catchable we caught mullet in the morning and tried tarpon in one of the backcountry channels. Saw some fish where we were the day before but they weren't in the mood to feed. So we hit some islands and caught several snook plus snappers for dinner. Caught some more mullet after that on the incoming tide and then tried some different channels for big stuff. Went 2 for 3 on tarpon including a nice fish close to 100 lbs, and also caught severl blacktip sharks and a hammerhead shark!
