Hooking Up Anglers Since 2011.
I feel like a bent stylus on a record player at the moment. Playing the same thing over and over. Fishing offshore continues to be so good! It's great to have anglers call us and ask them what would be there ideal fishing experience and be able to actually make it happen so consistently. Right now it's all about marlin and Tuna with day after day flags flying up and down the docks. Today offshore we had another stellar day with up to 12 marlin on one boat. We had another boat with almost a limit of yellowfin tuna and two blue marlin! Those lucky anglers had the best of both worlds on that trip. I just had a flag count of the marina today at 67 with alot of Blue one's and sailfish flags mixed in. Just an average monday here in the outerbanks! The marina has so many boats here right now the dock crews deserve so much credit for working so hard at keeping everyone fueled up and full of ice. Theres so many pieces of the fishing puzzle that have to come together to make days like today happen starting with hard working dock crews and ending with a happy angler fighting a 7 foot marlin.
Nearshore the weather is ideal and so is the ocean. We have a bunch of folks fishing with them tomorrow including some families. The kids on those trips will never forget the memory of that first spanish mackerel coming out of that cobalt blue water. My father used to make sure we always fished together growing up. It wasn't until years later that he explained to me that when your stuck on a boat together you have no choice but to talk to each other! Turns out my best memories of being a kid were those trips. I guess a family that fishes together stays together is the moral! Our nearshore fleet, in particular, really does a knockout job of giving families with young kids the time of their lives. I'm looking forward to seeing all those little smiling faces at my desk this week. We have outstanding spanish mackerel and Blue fishing right now with the added bonus of large packs of big Cobia on their way back down after spawining in the Chesapeake.
Inside the Inlet the T-time continues to catch rediculous amounts of Speckled Trout. When he calls in now I just say, " let me guess ya'll caught a limit of trout?.." I hope the trout fishing stays this good for years to come cuz we're getting spoiled now. Red Drum are here too and are gorging themselves on green tail shrimp that have finally made it here.
Call us at 1-80-367-4728 or visit us at www.fishpiratescove.com and we will take care of the rest! Take care and have a great week! (Me I'm going fishing talk to ya'll thurs!)
