Fishing Report for Fri Oct 4th

 | By Seamus on 10/6/2013 10:50:26 AM | Views (243)
Tonight, depending on who you talk to and where you are on the Pier, this is what they are getting:
Speckled Trout up close (don't know if there's been any keepers, but they've been close to it), the Spot are out at the end, and in between has been nice-sized Croaker, Roundhead, and some Blues.

Over the last several days, day fishing has been nearly non-existent due to those pesky little Pinfish. Night fishing, however, has been AWESOME!! LOTS of Spot, pan-sized and larger, some yellow and some not, have been biting between 3/4ths of the way out and the end. They've been starting around dark on the incoming tide, slacking off around the tide change, and picking back up on the outgoing tide. They've been biting through the first part of the morning incoming tide until the sun comes up; then they stop and the Pinfish take over.

Remember: It's about 10 degrees cooler out on the Pier than it is at your house. Also, it's been getting good and chilly out there at night. Please dress accordingly.

Everything lately has been caught between 3/4ths of the way out and the end of the pier, except the Drum, they've been up in the surf.
Fish the RIGHT side of the pier on an OUTGOING TIDE.
Fish the LEFT side of the pier on an INCOMING TIDE.
Fish the LEFT side of the pier, regardless of tide, if we have a strong NE wind blowing (rough water/white caps).

They're using mostly Bloodworms, Bloodworm Fish Bites, and/or squid. For Drum you want cut bait, or finger mullet.

F.Y.I.: All Combo Rods (rods w/reels including the small Neon Combos) and all Daiwa Reels (located in the glass case) are all 20% off!!

The tide is going out now and will be low at 3:30am. You typically want to be here at the start of an incoming tide.
The start of the INCOMING tides for the next week START at:
4/4:30am Sat morning, 4:30/5pm Sat evening, 4:45/5:15am Sun morning, 5:30/6pm Sun evening, 5:30/6am Mon morning, 6/6:30pm Mon evening, 6/6:30am Tues morning, 7/7:30pm Tues evening, 7/7:30am Wed morning, and 8/8:30pm Wed night.

Crabbing is done for the season.

We would like to encourage all of our facebook friends to post photos of the fish and crabs they catch on our wall. Everyone is always asking for pics, but unfortunately our staff doesn't always have time to take some.
