Hooking Up Anglers Since 2011.
More fish from the top end of Westernport Bay have been caught this week, with a lot of anglers trying their luck around Joes Island and the adjacent channels, back to Crawfish and Eagle rock.
Customer Simon caught snapper up to 4.5kg fishing the area around Joes Island in 6 - 7m of water on the weekend. Simon used pilchard pieces on snapper snatcher style rigs in blue and gold that he tied up himself.
Customers Zoran and Ned have also been fishing the top end of the port to catch snapper of a similar size along with a few nice gummies too. Fresh baits of squid, salmon and yakka along with pilchard have been the go on these fish. Most of the fish up in this area have been biting better during slack water.
Customer Brendan and his Dad have also been getting amongst the snapper out from Tooradin. They have been fishing the shallower water between the mouth of Tooradin channel and Joes Island using baits of fresh mullet and squid rigged on twin snelled hooks to land snapper like these 3kg models.
