Hooking Up Anglers Since 2011.
The air temperature dropped down a few degrees the past couple of days and the skies have been absolutely clear. This is the off season for the majority of tourists in the Florida Keys, but it doesn't mean it's the off season for Islamorada fishing! There's still a mixed bag to be had out there "offshore" and on the "reef". The Gon Fishin has got in on some blackfin tuna action his last couple of trips, as well as some vermillion snapper while bottom fishing.
The Fearless had some blackfin tunas his last trip, as well as a couple of kingfish and lots of action with little tunnys (bonitos). The Relentless had a few mahi and a handful of nice size blackfin tuna their last trip as well. The Miss Islamorada Party boat is back in action the last few days after having it's yearly service work done. They have got into some yellowtail snapper the last couple trips as well as a few other odds and ends. It's an economical way to get out on the water and catch a few fish for dinner!
Further offshore on the Bn'M II we went 1 for 3 on broadbill swordfish our last trip. We also caught a couple queen snapper and a few blueline tilefish. I think we will start seeing some more sailfish release flags flying the upcoming weeks, as well as more king mackerels, mutton snappers, and black groupers on the racks.
