Shallow Port Phillip reds

The Eastern side of Port Phillip has been fishing well for good pinkies and snapper in shallow water.

James from Unreel Fishing Charters has been putting clients on to fish to 5kg in the shallows around the Eastern side of the bay. Baits of squid rings and strips have brought the larger fish out to play while pilchards account for the majority of pinkies in the shallow water. Depths of 5 - 9m have been the best after dark.
