Hooking Up Anglers Since 2011.
Well fishing has been very good as we get near the end of october fishing islamorada. Bait has still been plentiful with some balls of mullet found near islamorada as well as in the backcountry waters. Pilchards have been around many spots too. The snook bite has been decent around flamingo and out around cape sable. Pilchards have been the ticket. We've had falling water for most of the day around the flamingo area. The tarpon were very active out in the gulf the last few days, today Capt. Rick Stanczyk and Capt. Mike Bassett had a trip together. They had 5 tarpon in the air between the two of them, and also caught several goliath groupers, sharks, mud marlin, a cobia, and about a dozen snook. Capt. Bill Bassett went deep into the everglades with his sons and they caught about 50 redfish and several snook as well. The fall is a great time to fish these areas especially once it cools off a little more. Fishing in flamingo is a good bet then too. Capt. John Johansen reported some snook and tarpon action as well as sharks a few days ago as well. Capt. Chris Daly had his wife and son out fun fishing, they saw lots of redfish tailing up to the east of flamingo, and caught plenty of nice snappers for dinner and a few snook too. It's a great time of year to come enjoy the fall backcountry fishing in the florida keys. The crowds are slim and their are plenty of fish to catch!
